Peptides
Peptides are short chains of amino acids—typically 2 to 50—linked by chemical bonds known as peptide bonds. They are considered the "building blocks" of proteins, but are shorter in length, and play essential roles as signaling molecules, hormones, and neurotransmitters in the human body. Because of their ability to regulate bodily functions, synthetic peptides are widely used in pharmaceuticals, skincare, and sports performance enhancement, often referred to as "peptide therapy".
